Anyone who is into weaponry knows that there are literally hundreds of different types of guns. While there may be a lot more variety when it comes to assault rifles and machine guns, there is still plenty of variety when it comes to handguns too. If you want to buy an airsoft pistol, then I recommend doing some research before you ever buy anything. First you should decide what model of gun you are interested. Glocks are becoming more popular every day. A USP with a silencer is great for that spy mojo. Perhaps you are more into older style weapons, such as the world war era M1911. Maybe you would prefer to burst onto the scene wielding a powerful Beretta or Desert Eagle.
The next step I would recommend is to take a look at the more reputable airsoft brands. You will also need to decide what price range you are interested in and what type of firing mechanism you want (spring, gas, or electric), but looking at brand names is important if you want to spend your hard earned money on a good weapon…even if you aren’t spending much money.
Of course you can buy any gun you want, regardless of brand reputation, but it is generally recommended to read reviews and trust the companies that have been popular for years. Here are some of the most popular brands of airsoft pistols (in no particular order): G & G, WE, UHC, KSC, HFC, KWA, STAR, CYMA, KJW, KWC, TSD, and Tokyo Marui.
There is a wide range in price for these guns though. You can some very good spring guns for less than $35, but the best gas blowback pistols will probably put you back about $100 or so. Here are some recommendations for you, sorted by type and price range.
If you want a good quality spring gun without paying much, here are a few recommendations. The KWC Sig Sauer P226 is perhaps one of the cheapest options, and is only about $15 depending on where you buy it. It is a reliable first gun, but is a bit on the small/light side. The UCH 1911 and UHC M9 are both great choices that are a little more accurate, durable, and heavier and only cost about $20 each. The UTG MK23 is another good option that comes with a silencer and is very nice. The KWC Ultra Grade Desert Eagle.50AE is a really good springer, but it is more in the $50 price range.
If you want a cheap gas gun, then a non-blowback option for only about $40 is the HFC M80. A good first gas pistol, but blowbacks are more realistic. If you want a blowback pistol, then a good choice is the KJW full metal M9 which is about $100. KWA and KSC have some really nice USP models for a little over $100 that are very accurate, and for around $150 you could even get a Tokyo Marui.
