Handgun hunting is more effective and humane with a .44 mag or larger caliber,
(with heavy bullets) and preferably with at least a 10" barrel; sure you CAN hunt
with a 10mm, but for larger game, it just isn't optimal. -
it would be interesting to see how effective it is on humans….

I am currently looking for the rite 10mm for hunting, i was leaning in the Sig XTen direction but its a new gun and am not to sure if i want to chance that or not. I notice you like a 1911 style 10mm and have not considered one until i started watching your video's but im still a little unsure about them.

You’ll never be able to come up with real data that would suggest the 10mm Auto is equal to a 41 Mag. You’ll only be able to generate roughly 2/3 the energy. Period.

Typical .41 mag ammo – Grizzly 265 grain at 1400 fps, which equals 1153 ft lbs of energy.
Sorry, the HOTTEST 10mm I can find, out of a 6" barrel, just barely hits 1000 ft lbs, so NO, NOT equivalent to a .41 mag in power.
.44 is higher than that, so don't go there either. -

Gross. His shots may have placement, maybe even penetration- but he has to trail every kill and it looks like for long distances. All I know, is when I shoot something with my 30.06 it instantly dies. Not a fan of this

10mm is unethical for elk! I love my glock 20 but I know that it falls far short of the energy limit for larger game. It can absolutely be done, but there are a lot of shortcomings with using even the best, hottest cartridges with a small barrel. Wounding is very easy to do in any platform. 10mm handguns increase that. I use mine for dangerous game defense, and I'm glad I have it, but I have repeatedly heard that it's the last few rounds that kill in a defensive situation. My .45-70 576gr hardcast bullets do not have that problem!

Man, I love hunting, I love my Glock 20 loaded with Underwood 180 grain, but it's not suitable for hunting game in sport. Can you shoot that animal, will it die eventually? Probably, with a well placed shot. But most hunters use rifles to end the life quickly and not prolong suffering, it is an unwritten but highly regarded rule. I see, that you placed great shots on all of your animals with 10mm, but not a single one dropped soon after being shot. All of the videos in all of your 10mm hunts are cut to censor how long it takes for the animal to die. I'm all about hunting, but do it in a caliber that is appropriate to kill quickly.

When Mr. Dobbs made the statement that the 10MM is equivalent to the 41 magnum that spoke volumes to me about Mr. Dobbs. I have quit watching his videos. If anyone thinks the 10MM is equivalent to the 41 Magnum using his cherished Double Tap loads in both they need to take a powerful laxative and have a good cleansing.
