These weapons of war, made to be used on the battlefield, to inflict as much damage as possible, to kill quickly, to tear internal organs and tissues…

THATS EVERY WEAPON EVER MADE EVER DUMBASS

“The Remington 700 is used by military snipers. You don’t need a military sniper rifle!”

Followed by: “The Mossberg 590 shotgun is used by the military, you don’t need a military shotgun to hunt with.”

Then only criminals and tyrants will have guns and everyone else will resort to using knives and acid like in the UK.

Been saying it for years, it’s not hard to tell that bolt actions, etc. are already demonized when used in a crime.

Saw an article once where they showed how many people wanted to ban various guns. The one above got a lot of votes. Some people even wanted to ban flare guns.

They can try in Kentucky. The woods are alive with angry rednecks with an unhealthy obsession with disobeying laws, hoarding guns, and long range hunting with 6.5 creedmoor.

If you don’t stand up for your rights and those of your countrymen now, you don’t deserve those rights. No registration, no confiscation. We should be sure they know where we all stand: if you want our rifles you must kill us.

I feel like shotguns would be scarier for them to come after next. Gotta get those Assault Sawed Off Tactical Fully Semi Automatic Shotguns off the market.

I just can’t wait until someone tries using Indingenous stone weapons and bows to commit a mass murder. Lets see the government try confiscating those!

I understand the assault weapons term is meaningless. Some questions:

Why is fingerprint scanner unstable when it works fine on every phone that has it? Couldn’t it just be implemented on new weapons?

No small magazines-average new pistol comes standard with 15+ mag?

Why is a national registry bad? Don’t most states have you register anyway?

I’m not trying to troll. Genuinely trying to understand both sides of this.

No, they’ll come after anything tactical looking, and then they’ll put bizarre magazine capacity restrictions on all guns, and then unelected officials will ban imports of random guns because why the fuck not. Signed, an Australian

That’s a fully automatic bolt action machine rifle and they need to ban those right now. At least take away collapseable folding bump stocks, especially the polymer kind.

They won’t make one more infringing regulation. Your fully semi automatic sport rifles and long-range deer incapacitating devices are safe. Water the tree of freedom. Bend your knees no more fellow Patriots.

I hunted for the first time this year. My girlfriend asked me what gun I was going to hunt with. I pointed at it. She was horrified, I think she said something about it being overkill. It was a scoped Remington 700 bolt action, in .308 Winchester. She hunted with her dad when she was a kid, and was in a rifle club in highschool. She later said it was the bi-pod I had on it (which I took off for hunting). And agreed it was entirely appropriate.

As a liberal who grew up hunting and still hunts, I highly doubt that. Most of the other liberals I talk to don’t want to repeal the entire second amendment they just don’t want military grade weaponry in the hands of civilians.

Cause if I shot a deer with an AR the meat is completely useless. Legit very little people are coming after guns used for hunting and recreation, they’re more concerned about the AR or AK that can kill 12 people in 10 seconds. You’d kill like 2 people max with a bolt action unless you were trained to use it in a war zone.

Thanks for all the comments. I’ll have to mull these over a bit.

Good points on finger scanner. Hack-ability and the possibility that the gov could remotely “turn-off” a weapon defeats the whole point of having it.

I fully agree that the 2nd amendment is to prevent tyranny, with the possible caveat that there was no standing army or police force back then, and the people were meant to be responsible for their own (and the country’s) defense.

However, it seems to me that that bird has flown: If Trump or Obama or whoever declares themselves president for life, and is in command of nuclear missiles and aircraft carriers and such, the population will not be able to revolt successfully, well armed or not.

Thanks again for all the comments. A lot of forums just hit me with an insta-ban when seeking info.

A lot of comments on here completely missing the point by assuming we all want ar platform weapons to hunt with. I want the best tool available for a multitude of tasks. I don’t owe anyone an explanation of my logic on this. Under natural law, as long as I’m not hurting anyone not hurting me with it, no one has fuck all to say about the tool I select. Fuck the second amendment. Fuck government telling me what I can out cannot possess while they are the single largest cause of death in the history of forever. In all of the mass shooting incidents ever, had there been an armed person casualties would have been reduced.
And in the end they ARE coming for all of it eventually. Look at the Jersey City shooting. Was it lost on everyone that the initial reports were that the police had been ambushed by “snipers?”

I recall that Obama and the Dems had WH, senate and house of reps early in 1st term and didn’t do jack about taking anyone’s guns. This is the slippery slope fallacy. Maybe next they will go after spoons.
