Has anyone ever used blems before? I heard today that an online reloading company will be releasing a massive list of Sierra blems and they are supposed to be appearance blems only. Will they preform as well as 1st’s? Because the prices I have heard are crazy cheap. Just curious if they will be good to use?

I’ve used them many times, problem is they’re not very easy to get sometimes and you have to take what they have available. Most of the time they simply have an “unshiny” finish, kind of foggy. I’ve gone over batches with a micrometer and a scale, have never found any not loadable. A few outlets sell them by the pound like jelly beans, and the price is great.

I shoot 90% blems in my rifles, mostly nosler. They’re not as 100% shiny, but they shoot well. Try a small sample if possible, and then make a decision for your shooting requirements.

I’ve used the 175gr .308 Nosler RDF blem’s and shot just as well as normal ones. I’d be willing to say that probably any blem’s from a reputable company will shoot well.

I have used them many times. Never had an issue with them for practice rounds.

I use blem nosler accubonds for my 7mm08 and I’ve had a lot of good results with them.

My AR 6.5 Creedmoor really likes 140gr FMJ seconds, I’ve tried all kinds of loads with eld and bthp and it didn’t do well with any of them.

I have used hundreds of blems (Sierra and Hornady) from Midway and all have shot well. Most of the bullets you would not know they are blems. Some are quite a bit more aged looking (dark copper instead of shiney). One box of Sierra 175s was really awful, the bullets were really scratched up, and the base to ogive measurement was not consistent).
