Art or nah??? There are a few differences between this and the influential piece my curation today was inspired by.
1. The first and most important difference is the subject matter. My wife ate the last banana in the house yesterday and I was not about to go to the store during my lunch break. To improvise I am using my most recent work of art in place of the banana. I’m sure this would go against whatever point @mauriziocatellan was playing on since he is known for some controversial works in the past.
2.The next difference being @david_datuna could not simply walk up to my piece and eat it. Well I suppose he could try but we would need to do all of the appropriate paperwork and background checks for him to do so. Even then he would have to wait a few days after filling out all the paperwork then come back to eat it assuming he passes the background check and everything else checks out.
3. The name of @mauriziocattelan piece is “Comedian”. mine……well I only find it appropriate to name it “Heckler” by @williamevansdesigns. 4. While there are many other differences I will only be going over one more the price. @mauriziocattelan work “comedian” went for 120k mine will probably go for roughly 100 times less. While @david_datuna ate @mauriziocattelan piece and called his performance art “hungry artist”my only critique would have been the name itself. Personally I think “starving artist” has a better ring to it. Especially since most artists are. And by the way @mauriziocatellan your 18k toilet bowl is going to be tough to beat while the banana was good the toilet takes the cake imho if you ever decide to do another one and want the lid hand engraved or something hit me up I’m sure we could work something out…..
