I just bought a Browning Light Twelve and decided to do my due diligence and replace the springs and friction ring setup. I ordered the rebuild kit from Art’s. Interestingly, when I went to replace the magazine follower spring, I noticed that the new one is about 2″ *shorter* than the old one. The old one’s not stretched, it has about 5 more rings than the new replacement.
The new one s about 22.5″, while the old one is about 24.5″ They should be the same length for all 2 3/4″ guns, regardless of gauge. I called Art’s and they had no idea why. Anyone got a spring they can measure?
