GuestDecember 11, 2019 at 2:55 pmClay, I was blown away at you walking through that swamp barefoot with snakes around. Me, I would have had snake boots on! Thermacell is the ticket for those little bloodsuckers.

GuestDecember 11, 2019 at 2:56 pmThems the breaks. Looked like a good stalk and a good try to me. If you limit yourself to the basics you're gonna fail sometimes. That's what makes a person a hunter instead of a killer, and there is a difference. The killers who take the easy way will never have the experiences that a hunter has, nor the respect or knowledge of the game that they hunt. Good on you , Clay. You'll have some stories to tell.

GuestDecember 11, 2019 at 2:57 pmNo offense, but the majority of you guys using homemade bows, and even some of you using commercially made recurves, are using draw-weights that are too low for ethical hunting. From the range you were at, to have your arrow come out of the animal after it only had running a couple yards means you had piss poor penetration. I've seen other guys on here shoot deer at extremely close range with their self-made bow, and the arrow barely penetrated, i'd say 2inches. When the deer ran after getting hit the arrow was flopping around like the broadhead was just under the skin. The guy never found the deer. All he did was injure the thing. And that really pisses me off when I see that shit. Just because it's technically legal to hunt with a draw-weight of only 40lbs, does not mean that you should do it.

GuestDecember 11, 2019 at 2:58 pmThe amazing thing to me is that the native Americans hunted buffalo with bows similar to yours.
Stalking is an art that many people never get the chance to experience.
Happy hunting. -

GuestDecember 11, 2019 at 2:58 pmHi Clay, what are the specs of the set up you are using to hunt hogs. Bow weight, arrow weight, FOC, and fps. I am putting together a trad rig for a hog hunt this October. Just curious what you think would be an acceptable set up to put down a 55-70lb piglet. Thanks.

GuestDecember 11, 2019 at 2:58 pmI live really close to here, when most of us go hunting this is where the long sleeve under armor style shirts that mossy oak makes come in really handy, the camo pattern is good but we mostly wear them for mosquitos when we hunt even if it is over 100 outside

GuestDecember 11, 2019 at 3:00 pmHe must have the worlds greatest camera man,…..he kept the camera still while the swarms of mosquito's ate the star.
Nope I ain't watching no more of this shit,…..walking barefoot,……..in a swamp,…… fuck that.
Next he will be on naked and afraid.
I'm personally not stupid enough to find my self in a survival situation because I would go prepared.
