I now own a Remington, Stoeger, 2 Benelli, and a Franchi. All 12 gauge, and multiple style chokes. I was thinking about Cerakote different colors to keep them apart. Has anyone done this? I don’t thing the tolerances are that tight that they would not fit in the barrel anymore.

And yes, just the outside, before anyone asks lol

Choke tube cases are like $9 on amazon.

How about just doing the ends? That way they’d have a coloured tip but it wouldn’t mess with the threads.

So ceracoat thickness is usally. 001-.002 double that for both sides let’s say .005 total, normal ruled paper is around .005 so if your choke tube will still work with a peice of paper on one side, possibly. I don’t think it will work. I have my choke tubes in different Mtm choke tube cases.

Maybe buy a cheap one off Amazon and try getting that one done first and see if it fits.

Edit: how do you plan on telling what construction is what after they are coated?

I thought that said something about “Cherokee choke tribes” at first glance.

I definitely wouldn’t, but most of those aren’t interchangeable, and the ones that are will work fine, so it’s not like you’re going to damage a gun.

This seems like a bad idea but also that you have your mind made up.

Let us know how this disaster pans out.
