Could leaving the gun on the magnet polarize the internals, thus affecting the gun in the long run?

    It’s possible, yet highly unlikely.

I imagine if it was an issue, these gimmicky magnets would have been outed years ago.

No, any magnetic field would dissipate shortly after removing the magnet.

Magnet wouldn’t be able to affect the firing pin position or other internals. you are fine.

Metal can be magnetized after being in close proximity to magnetic fields for extended amounts of times. I’m not sure how susceptible Glocks would be to this, but it might be worth testing out. Anyone know the physics around this? You can buy little magnetizers for screw drivers to intentionally magnetize them.

Nightmare scenario “could” be the striker and slide both becoming magnetized and sticking together or repelling or something.

I’m not an expert. Just speculating.

I always wondered about long term impact on ammunition but not because of any basis in fact. More that I’m ignorant of the iron content in powder or other possible effects.

The internal parts would long wear out 10x over before magnetism made any noticeable affect on them.

Never had a problem. I use one every day.

This is a very interesting question. I am curious about it. You should contact Glock and let us know what they reply with.

Update: I’ve written Glock, and we’ll see what they say!
