I have been saving up random scraps lately to grind up and keep a supply of chum for when I go out. I have the opportunity to get about 25 gallons of coconut oil for free. I know people use a few types of oil in their chum but haven’t ever heard anything either way about coconut oil. Any ideas if it will help or hurt or if it’s even worth bothering with?

At worst, it would probably not do anything. The added fat may help carry the scent further.

Just get some rubber sheets, lay them on the floor, grab your wife/partner and have fun with gallons of coconut oil!

Considering that coconut oil is solid at room temp, I doubt it would have the desired effect in cooler winter waters

Sounds like an awful idea. Pretty sure oil isn’t supposed to go into our streams.
