I have thought about this before. I don’t know if it’s ethics or why I think I should punch my tag without a dead animal. Maybe something I may have killed an animal and just couldn’t find it? I don’t really know why, but I feel like drawing blood = hunt over. Anyone else battle this dilemma?

I don’t, but only because in the state I live you get many tags and I would never fill them. With a license you get 4 doe tags and 2 bucks. I’m lucky to get one deer a year.

I have bought enough unfilled tags to more than cover any blood from bad hits. I already feel sick and bad enough. I don’t need to burn an extra tag.

No but I’ll spend days trying to recover an animal if I think it’s hit lethally.

No, I’ve never heard of this… If it’s dead you would find it and is your responsibility to find it. Rediculous.

If I think that animal is going to die, even if I can’t recover, I would punch my tag.

I see the tag as one life, not one recovered life.
