    Hi y’all!

So as the title says does calling your congressman really help? I have an form 4 suppressor that has been pending sense near the beginning of the year and it’s still pending… I’ve Heard a lot of praises for contacting your congressman in it getting approved quickly for some reason… weird how that works. Funny enough Ted Cruz I’ve heard those great things for people waiting and he’s actually my congressman here in Central Texas, so I was debating calling him to see if he can look into getting this resolved.

    Y’all’s thoughts?

If it’s Ted Cruz I say go for it. He’s wildly Pro-Gun. It really couldn’t hurt to make a quick call

Worth a try, he’s the kind of guy that has people that actually want to help, that being said my last one was 12 months

In my opinion, if it’s pending since january then it is not really necessary. I would contact a representative when it was closer to a year out. 9 months is the average they are still quoting so not much to be done about it. If someone has a different experience I’d be interested to hear.

The average wait time on NFA tracker is 1 year to approval right now.

You’ve got Several months to go. Just order another so it’s already in line.

I did. Didn’t help at all and I’m same timeframe as you. They just sent boilerplate response back saying it’s ten months and up to one year or something like that and said the application is still processing.

It depends on who your Congresscritters are. It will probably add a year if you call Diane Feinstein or Pelosi.

Eh. Yes and no. Texas resident here as well. My initial thought was to contact Ted Cruz’ office after my form 1 had been processing for 6 months. I got an autoresponse email asking for some basic information about the request, and a waiver to release my information. I was never contacted again- to this day actually. On the other hand, I contacted the Representative from my area, Michael Burgess. His team promptly contacted me and got everything they needed to request information from the ATF. About 4 weeks later one of his assistants called me and notified me that it was in the “FBI NCIS black hole.” I then asked if they could contact the FBI. His assistant immediately took action, but I didn’t hear back for probably another month. So at about day +260 from cashing my check, I got a call from Michael Burgess’ assistant that several of my stamps had the NICS check approved, and therefore stamps approved.

TL/DR Ted Cruz was no help, Michael Burgess’ team seemed to be of good help. 8 month eform 1.
