I’m the happy new owner of a Ruger MPR. It comes with a radial brake, 18″ barrel, rifle length gas system. Is the factory brake any good? I’ve left the rifle with the FFL for NJ compliance work. Before they weld and pin the brake, should I spend the $$ to swap in a VG6 Gamma?
I keep reading that recoil will not be a problem with the factory brake, but how about muzzle rise? How much difference will there be in felt concussion, by myself or nearby shooters with either device?
How would the vg6 CAGE device help?

It’s a comp, not a brake. I changed mine too an A2 because it’s not as loud or concussive.

The real litmus test is: are you an accurate enough shooter that it matters in the first place?

The fucker is real loud and concussive, i can tell you that much for sure. I’m swapping mine out with an A2 until my can is out of jail, then going with a dead air flash hider.
