Hey guys, I live in Michigan and I’m looking to possibly buy from PSA as they have some solid deals on AR-10s. I’ve been told by some friends to buy an upper receiver kit and a lower receiver kit from PSA. I checked their website and I saw that they have stripped lower receivers, complete lower receivers, and then the normal upper receivers. This is obviously my first time looking into buying a firearm that isn’t complete at purchase, so I’m a little bit lost.

What exactly is the least complicated and legal way of purchasing the components to build a complete rifle? It seems like they will ship an upper receiver to your home, but lower receivers need to go through an FFL middleman, correct? What’s the point of buying a stripped lower when I can just buy the complete lower for about the same price as the stripped, plus the parts needed to complete it?
