Fishing in Sandbridge, VA

I’m going to down to Sandbridge, VA at the end of July for a week and I am a very new saltwater angler. I primarily have fished for bass and trout my entire life and just a year ago purchased my own shore rod. I was just looking for some general knowledge on fishing the surf in Sandbridge (I.E. species, bait, setups to use). All help would be greatly appreciated I’m just trying to be able to go down and catch some fish 🙂
