Thought about getting a cz American or a cz lux. The American is floated and the lux isn’t. How much of an effect on accuracy would a non floated barrel have? Would getting the rifle glass bedded make of for a lack in free float? Any input would be appreciated.

unless you are trying to fit 5 rounds in the same hole at more than 100 yards with an optic that costs like 5x more than the rifle, you probably wont notice a difference.

I am by no means an expert but when I was looking into getting one of my rifles floated. Some people were saying it only affected accuracy when shooting multiple rounds, like at a range or Target practicing a lot. I decided not to go through the trouble of floating it because I use it for hunting and don’t fire many rounds at time. I could totally be wrong about this but that is what I found

I find that a floated barrel and “just-right” bedding bolt tension is pretty important for my CZ 455 if I want to get ragged holes at 50 yards.

Depends on range. Floated vs non floated isn’t noticeable at 50 yards, maybe not even 100, but past 100 you can’t rest the stock of a non-floated barrel on anything unless it’s zeroed like that.

If you’ve got a non-floated barrel, and you’re shooting past 300-400 yards, bracing the gun on a wall, tripod, or whatever else could have you shooting *feet* off your point of aim.
