I have a stock G45. Would like to eventually put a red dot on it. Should I send my slide in to get milled or buy an already milled slide?

Or should I buy an adapter to fit on the rear sight trench?

Super new to all of this, not really sure what the best place to start is

I’m getting my G45 done soon. I’m sending it out to get milled at a local business. Going to cost like 120. Pretty worth it if you ask me.

Optic cut package from any of the following, and you’ll need suppressor height sights (I recommend ameriglo gl-429)

    -MAC Defense

    -Maple Leaf Firearms

    -Primary Machine

    -Zeroed in Armory

Leaving out atei because they’re expensive AF for not much reason in these modern times of lots of folks doing great optic cuts. Don’t dovetail mount.

So depends on what you want right? Do you wanna keep your slide stock so you can resell it later or do you plan on keeping this gun for the forseeable future?

I would heavily be against an adapter for your rear sight as it lifts the optic higher on the gun and well you have nothing to really cowitness with in the event the optic is down or out of power.

So one place to start is checking out your local area and see if anyone has any good milling jobs local. Ask people at gun stores as they generally might have an idea who does work locally. However, there are plenty of companies that do milling and recoating online and you can see it in the side bar to the right. Personally, I enjoy and like the work of Jagerwerks and will send my slides out to them due to their notoriety and quality milling.
