    Hi,

I’m thinking about upgrading to a Garmin Striker sonar and will then be using it with the portable kit. Does anyone know if the Garmin Striker 4 Plus fits in the portable kit?

I have the Stryker but not the portable unit. Rigged up My own battery in a plastic Ammo box. Love it. Doesn’t work at speed but helps me find all my species underwater. I’m in the Puget sound but only really use it to 250’, the areas deeper don’t seem to hold fish I want. No experience in shallow lakes and such.

I’m shopping these as well so I don’t have hands-on experience here but there’s an ice fishing kit that includes the 4 plus and the portable kit. Looks like the same portable kit designed for the 4? Just a heads up, looks like that kit comes with an ice-specific transducer so you’d have to buy a different transducer for open water if you went with that kit.

I own the Garmin Striker 4 plus and the portable kit. Yes it fits. No, you probably won’t use it that much. The included battery is a rather disappointing lead/acid.
