Is there really a big difference between the generations of glocks? I’m in California, so I can only get the gen 3. I just want to make sure I’m making a good decision if I go with glock when there are other guns that are coming in at the same price or cheaper. The sp2022 for example comes in at 450 at my local gun store, while the glock 19 gen 3 is 560. I’m just not sure if I want to pay full price for a gun that has already been updated twice by the manufacturer. I’m a bit of a noob to the handgun world, so any advice you guys have would be great.

Gen 3 is the Pinnacle if Glock’s evolving “perfection”. My only negative in them is that not all shooters like the finger grooves.

That being said, I really love a SP2022. At $100+ less, you can’t feel bad if you choose it instead.

Nothing wrong with a gen 3. Each gen has its pros and cons. I like 4 personally. If I was in you shoes I wouldn’t feel bad about a gen 3. It is the most customizable and some say the best trigger.

Gen 3s are fine..some people even prefer then to the gen 4s. Gen 4s come standard with an extended slide release and they have a dual recoil spring setup, they also come withe three mags instead of two. The frames are a tiny bit different but nothing functional.

    Its mostly QOL differences.

The third generation Glocks are the toughest Glocks. And they have aftermarket support comparable to the AR-15. You won’t regret it.
