The most amazing part of the whole scene for me was how Sean rubs his hands through Will's hair. Holds him, rocks him side to side and shows Will that its ok to cry

I freaking love Robin, I don't think there was anything this man could not do, except find that happiness he so deserved. Just an amazing person. It's funny never met this man but my heart hurts every time I watch him, knowing now his disease, why Robin why not OJ that murdering prick. We still miss you Robin and I know with all our love and prayers that are resting now you gave so much and we will always think of you😇😇

It might be even more destructive for a young boy, when it's his "mother" who beat him with a wooden broom stick or an electric prolongator cord, a leather belt, a hot iron trying to burn the sole of his feet, and then she goes ahead and purchase a whip…an actual whip to hurt more "her kid"…
she is not even drunk or anything but any excuses will be good (bad grades at school, or an annotation of a teacher)..for a Serious and Long beating on his naked body (because hits are better applied directly on the young flesh..!!)
How he didn't end up hating women is a mistery, he didn't become completely F up, but yet ended up scarred for his Whole life…!!!

Firstly I like to say I believe Matt Damon deserved a bunch of awards for his performance in this scene!!! I cried the first time I saw it. I've only cried about 3 movie scenes in my whole life. The other two was mostly because I was very young and I always imagine what I see on screen is real. I guess the reason why I cried about the scene. Is because the performance was amazing and I have experience with abuse. I will always love Good Will Hunting. It's a fabulous movie and I am a Matt Damon and Robin Williams fan.RIP dear Robin. Robin Williams performance in Dead Poets Society, The Fisher King and many many other movies will forever stay in my heart.

This scene is such a tear-jerker, that is difficult not to shed tears. Especially, when you can relate and empathize this man's pain. This is why I love Matt Damon, he's such a phenomenal actor and same applies to Robin William. He may be gone, but not forgotten.

I don't think I grew up being abused, not purposefully anyways. My mother had a temper and she would yell at me as a kid at the drop of a hat if something went wrong. Even if I wasn't the cause, it was often that I received the brunt of it.

I always felt like I did something wrong, and she would make me feel like her anger was my fault, like I'd caused it. Later, we'd know she had a disorder. She couldn't control it and it wasn't her fault. That didn't stop the damage that it did.

I love my mother, don't get me wrong, but to this day I don't open up to people, never fully. I know I'm afraid of the intimacy involved in being in a romantic relationship. That I'll be vulnerable and they'll use it against me.

This scene hit home when I was a kid and I never knew why I cried so much. Watching it as an adult, I get it. I always needed someone to tell me that it wasn't my fault. That I was just a child and I shouldn't have been blamed for things I had no control over.

I never got that. To this day if something goes wrong, I blame myself. Sometimes consciously, sometimes unconsciously. Opening yourself up to someone, being truly vulnerable, is the most terrifying thing I can think of.

I hope everyone watching this video and those who took the time to read through this comment find someone in your life who you can truly be yourself with. Someone who will never use your vulnerabilities against you.
