Looking for a gun safe. Relatively small collection now, with plans to expand.
Love to hear thoughts on biometric locks, mechanical, brands etc.
Thanks in advance, sorry if this breaks some rule.

[This guy](https://gunsafereviewsguy.com/) is gun storage Jesus. Follow his commandments.
The tl;dr is – it depends on your mission. If you’re looking to keep your kids out of your guns, get a locker or metal gun cabinet (stack on or similar). If you want theft deterrence, stay away from <$1000 gun safes and look into a used, UL certified safe.
If you’re worried about fires…insure your guns. Even a fire resistant safe isn’t going to do you much good in a catastrophic fire.

I have a stack on 40 gun safe, it’s by no means top of the line but the features for the $ is pretty unmatched. I managed to find this one recently for $599 SHIPPED, with curbside. Also picked up a 24 gun stack on, for $299 in store pickup Black Friday. They match, are electronic lock (would have preferred mechanical but oh well) and lock up tight. The 40 gun has pass through power so I can run a dehumidifier/lights. Pretty nice.

Only comment, a 40 gun safe really only holds ~25 long guns unless you get creative or remove all the shelving. Buy way bigger than you think, otherwise you will fill your new safe up and need to get another one!

FWIW, unless you are getting in and out of your safe multiple times a day I personally would stay away from electronic locks. Not that they dont have their place but it takes all of 15 seconds to run 3 numbers on a dial and be into your safe. With an electronic that is down to 5 seconds but I need less electronics in my life not more.
I was told when I bought my safe, a Summit 40 gun (I think) that electronic locks have about a 1% chance of failing. Could have been the salesman wanting to make a sale, but I specifically asked about electronic locks and he said he would avoid them. Your results may vary.

I plan to buy a larger sized “safe” from Sturdy Gun Safe. Probably be around 4500 all said and done but I’ll be happy with filling it up over the next 20 years.
