Lead by example is all I’m saying. Practice what you so preach. Don’t be a hypocrite. That is all

Note: I am pro gun as fuck I just want to hear some reactions to this

It’s pretty nuts honestly. They say that self loaders should be banned and pretend that people who own them don’t care when children are gunned down in public schools. Meanwhile they act in movies that often glorify the violence they claim to abhor. Not to mention the “gun” violence they’re committing in their films is often morally disgusting and/or unnecessary. Wanting the violence to stop (which we all do) is one thing, but claiming the moral high ground on the issue and then essentially making the violence look “cool” is another. It’s not much different than the simpletons that claim “video games promote violence” while they spend money to watch people mindlessly kill each other in a shitty action movie. Frankly they can eat a bag of shit.

The billionaires such as Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Bloomberg should give their armed guards and no longer have any security personnel. We also need to disband the Secret Service along with all protection and security guards for the Supreme Court and the Senate/Congress. Those who demand we have no protection should all lead by example.

Dumbass Elizabeth banks posted a buncha anti gun stuff railing against “gun culture” in the US with a poster of her Charlie’s angels bomb in the middle where the girls are posing with guns. Also, Jennifer Garner was marching against guns while filming Peppermint. These people are pure garbage.

That’s not how the far-left works. “Rules for thee, not for me.” Same reason why anti-gun public figures never give up their armed security.

SO silly. They consider themselves Ubermenschen, qualified and even called to decide what is best for YOU. Since they have special powers/intellect/reasoning, the rules they demand apply to the deplorables, not to them. THEY are enlightened, YOU are a scurrilous excuse for a human. Thus, one set of rules for you, and different rules for them.

That, in a nutshell, is what caused the founding of America. Liberty, rule of law, and we are all equal under the law.

The same goes for many rap artists, glorifying gang culture in order to make a buck, not giving a shit about the cancer they are spreading among the inner city youth.

Some movie studios have vowed to destroy 10 guns for every gun shown in a show or movie.

If you’re still watching/paying for degenerate Hollywood media in 2019, you are part of the problem. Stop giving money to people who want you and your family dead. Same thing goes with anything out of the NFL, you are paying billionaires to advocate for your rights to be restricted or revoked. You have to be a really dumb motherfucker to pay people who hate you.

Passive media is for mouthbreathers anyway. Hopefully some of you are better than that.

They should promote gun safety/ proper firearm handling and situational awareness.

Education can solve this problem, blaming tools wont, IMHO.

Like everyone else, look at what they do not what they say. If they say “ban all guns” and they have armed private security, what they mean to say is “ban all guns for plebs not people like me”. However, that would be dumb to do so they just privately do what they want and say something different. It’s no different than people who openly hated on gay people and were closet gays or celebrities championing climate change by flying their private jets to conferences in the Swiss Alps.

Anti gunners are generally hypocrites. Look at all the congressmen/women, senator, actors, actresses, political activists, and what not that use arm security or will use armed personnel to take your guns.

Would it be terribly hard to compile pictures of say mark whalburger with a gun in his hand. There’s probably hundreds of examples every time one of them pops off on Twitter or wherever the next hundred or so comments are just picture of that person holding a gun?

Yeah, it’s quite hypocritical of some of these actors who almost exclusively star in movies where they’re running around shooting everything that moves, while at the same time speaking out that nobody should have “semiautomatic weapons of war”. If they truly believe that, I don’t know how they justify making money “promoting gun violence”…

I totally agree. It’s maddening to hear them “gun are evil, now come see my latest movie where I shoot everything that moves for an hour and a half.”

No guns in your movies. See how much that affects your bottom line.

“Hollywood should use firearms in movies, but not in military style assault movies. Let’s face it, motion pictures did not exist when the constitution was written and a lot of other countries openly censor movies so it must be ok. Our right to be safe in the crosswalk outweighs your right to make movies featuring unsafe driving. ENOUGH. The first amendment has limits. The Supreme Court ruled that child abuse images are not protected so that means the violent movies are not protected either HAH CHECKMATE YOU MOVIESEXUALS!!!”

LOL that was fun. In all seriousness though step one in terms of practicing what they preach would be for every hollywood type to forgo their mansions in the gated community and live like the rest of us, minus armed security guards.

    >Note: I am pro gun as fuck I just want to hear some reactions to this

They aren’t going to do it because action movies with gun fights make money. They make money for two reasons:

First, the general audience has either no strong opinion on gun control or lean slightly pro gun ownership.

Edit: I feel I should elaborate on this point some more. The general populace leans pro gun ownership *but not from an ideological framework.* They may not think that the right to keep and bear the means of defense, on par with the state, is inextricable from the inherent, human right of defense. Especially in those terms. The vast majority of people, who are a product of a state funded and ran public education system, do not have the ideological framework nor the vocabulary to do so *because of* that same public education system. People lament that there is no “civics education” in k-12 public schools; they are wrong. There absolutely is civics education but it does not go beyond the surface level and is not geared to provide an ideological framework beyond the surface level or the vocabulary necessary to make and understand these types of arguments.

Second, gun-grabber voters still like watching action movies and playing video games with guns. And in some cases they are probably an inch away from becoming a gun owner themselves (a sentiment I’ve encountered in discussion) but are somewhere between Preference Falsification and adhering to ideology by practice (encountered in the same discussions).

I have written my state legislator and asked that we ban Hollywood from using any guns not legal for common use in California. I haven’t gotten a response, but I will keep pushing for that.

I agree, guns are fetishized in media (movies, games, shows). It’s a fact that certain movies and games will boost sales of certain guns. Dirty Harry, the Call of Duty franchise, Shooter (which also inspired many NFA violations), Battlefield One, Die Hard, Gran Torino, etc.

Also very pro-gun, just agreeing with your point.

I remember when Jim Carrey made a big stink about guns and violence in Kick-Ass 2 and told people not to watch it. I assume he must have read the script at some point. He still took their money.

I Agree. I like Liam Neeson as an actor and a lot of the movies he’s been in, but if you want to be critical of the 2A then fuck off with all the action grandpa roles.
