In most non commie states you can buy a cz scorpion evo 3 pistol, file your sbr paperwork, add a stock and you’re gtg. In my state even an sbr has to be at least 29 inches oal, which a scorpion pistol with stock is not. My idea is to buy the carbine and have a gun smith shorten the barrel to just where the hand guard stops and add threads for a suppressor. Obviously legally once all my paperwork goes through. Does this seem like a reasonable solution or is there some odd reason i don’t see anyone doing scorpions like that? Surely i can’t be the only one that’s thought of it in a state with the 29 inch oal rule for sbr’s. I don’t know anything about gun smithing so in what range could I expect to pay and is adding thread’s to a barrel even a common thing that people do?
Edit: originally said oal has to be 26 inches. Meant to say 29.
