The were in the process of serving warrants for burglary, trespass and the violation of a restraining order on Mr. Booth, a veteran who may have been drunk and who reportedly has PTSD, when he barricaded himself into his home and threatened violence.
The vet flooded social media with false reports of a red flag for a 30 round mag and both PDs were flooded with rude and angry calls.
There are no accounts of either department acting rude or unprofessional in return.
The PDs waited out the situation FOR EIGHT HOURS in order to bring it to a peaceful resolution.
They didn’t break down the door with a swat team or ram the house with an armored vehicle.
Despite all of the hate mail and angry phone calls and people trying to infiltrate their incident scene they did a great job.
Let’s hope that Mr.Booth gets the counseling and help that he needs.
Supposedly the VA has gotten much better over the last decade in providing such services, hopefully they continue to improve.
And let’s hope that Mr.Booth’s wife and family also get the support they need.
They defiantly don’t need any vile hatred being directed their way by people on social media sites, some of which I saw yesterday.
