Killer Whales are absolutely amazing. The fact some of them are in captivity at Sea World and other "aquatic parks" is a disgrace. We're talking about an apex predator, that lives 60-80 years in every ocean in the world, and spend their entire lives with their families. When scientists look at the Orca's brain they are astounded with its complexity and it proves their intelligence and emotional depth. Not only are they complete badasses of course, but there are ZERO known killer whale attacks on humans in the wild. Why you ask? Because they are keenly aware that our species has similar intellectual capacities. All Cetaceans on this earth should be revered, protected, and have no business being in captivity.

Sailors have witnessed this for centuries. The vanity of this individual who believes she's the 1st to see it!

Maybe one of these days, programs like these will just show the entire damn video clip of a hunt, from start to finish.

In another video, I have seen an orca tossing an already incapacitated seal 80 feet into the air. Orcas play with their prey because they can.

I appreciate your research, but saying "We all had witnessed something that no one had ever seen before, ever." You said earlier, that the entire reason you were out researching for this EXACT behavior is that it had been documented before, and you wanted to see if it was real…not giving credit to this "Scott" who's diary was read, and the behavior had been talked about and discussed by the science community from this supposed "myth" that he created. You act as if, "If it's not on videotape it never happened." Yet I'm sure you're all for carbon-dating, the big bang theory, and everything else that science supposedly "proves" (Don't get me wrong, I find them as very plausible, and the best solid evidence we have in many cases) You're essentially discrediting other's research from before your own time, and claiming your "finding" revolutionary. Again though, I appreciate the research that you and your organization do to find understanding in the world, and to attempt to make the world more habitable through preservation, but the line I quoted above is what I hate so much about humanity. Discrediting any others who's work before you, and trying to claim all the glory for ones-self.

This is a learned behavior that demonstrates orcas have culture. This is leaps and bounds beyond any other pack hunting technique apart from hominids.

It is our moral & ethical duty to protect this species' varying resident populations. (Transient orca groups are extremely adaptable & will almost certainly outlive us)

In terms of awesomeness, this pod is in competition with the pod that hunts seals off of Argentina by beaching themselves and getting back to the ocean. There's going to be an orca world cup final between these two. Who's your favorite?
