Going to try out hunting from the ground with my compound. Not going to be able to use a ground blind so will be using brush and being still. Any tips for me?

I ONLY bowhunt from the ground, no blinds, every year. Get a cheap ~$20 mesh leaf suit from amazon or ebay. Hunt from behind horizontal hard cover like a fallen tree. Upturned root masses work good. You want to break up your arm/leg silhouette. Sitting with your back to a tree only works good with lots of low leafy branches. Clear out all the leaves under yourself so you can move/shoot. SIT STILL. Practice shooting sitting and from your knees. This is what I do every year and I get deer so close each year I can grab them.

    Good Luck!

Be as still as you can when not moving, your adding an extra level of hardness to the hunt

Instead of drawing early make your setup 15 yards off the trail on the cross wind or downwind side. Make sure you have something between you and the direction u expect them to come from. Let them walk begin to walk by with their focus on what’s ahead of them. Then draw your bow and shoot them slightly quartering away. I have shot many deer this way from the ground on public land with my compound and stickbows.
