Hello, I need practice before being able to humanely make single shots.

What is the minimum distance you’d recommend to practice static bullseye shooting?

    Thank you

I started shooting bullseye at 20 yards then stepped it back to 30,40,50 till I knew that I was consistent. Now when that animal walks out in front of me, I won’t take a 50 yard shot, my “buck fever” makes me shake to much. Longest shot deer shot I’ve taken was 35 yards, a squirrel at 45ish yards 😂

It may depend on the area you’re going to hunt. Where I hunt I can only really get shots out to 40, occasionally 50. So I try to dial in there really well. But I usually end my practice session at double that, so out to 80 or 90. It may be a mental thing but taking shots at those farther distances seem to make shots at 40 and below seem way less stressful
