Best thing is you can use recitals and encores to dodge attacks.

i love the HH,its my favorite weapon (up there with hammer when i wanna smack something in the face, hammer my be simple but there is just something satisfying about smacking a monster in the face with a heavy weapon lol),as for HH i'm gonna get my rock on while i beat the monster with my song xD
only one small correcting, most HH lovers will have more than one horn depending on how they play (like element weakness matching)

another thing, you never spoke about combo's leading into others if the last notes on the first song matches the first note of the second song, for example att up is blue>red>green>>blue and health rec is blue>green>blue,so instead of inputting blue>red>green>>blue then inputting blue>green>blue to get both songs you could instead press blue>red>green>>blue>green>blue to get both songs banked (your essentially pressing 1 note less to get both songs which make a big difference over the course of a fight, hopefully this didn't sound too confusing to try explain)

I remember learned HH on mh3rd after me and my friend keep dying on hunting, after that we never failed a single quest because of this weapon.

Question: the 'stab' that can cut tails…is that viable at all? I don't know how the mechanic of tail-cutting works. I assumed you had to do a certain amount of "Cutting damage" to the tail to get it to cut, in which case, you'd never cut the tail with a move used so rarely.

Have I been wrong? Does the tail just have its own health pool, and when its empty it just needs a single "cutting attack" to sever it, regardless of what damage was used to deplete the pool of health prior?

Remind me again why people don't play this thing more often than they should?

To you hunter horns out there keep blowing without you the hunts won’t be very dull indeed.

One thing i didnt see covered was the VERY powerful backwards input encore. Its like 3 slams with the booms on them.

I'm new to MHW and I absolutely love the hunting horn. My only issue is that I struggle to hit fast and aggressive monsters when I'm hunting with a group, nergigante for example. So I'd have to keep running around trying to hit the monster or just swing at nothing and play the notes.
