Hi there, I dont know if this is the right place, but it seems like the best out of anywhere. My description might also be too vague… basically, my cat was shot 2 weeks ago and has been having a complicated surgery/recovery since. The vets requested we get the police involved as the nature of the shots are potentially malicious. They deducted that my cat was shot at least twice and has about 12 pellets along her right side, shattering and fracturing both her legs and one nearly pierced her skull. We dont know if they were steel or lead. I was wondering if there are any basic guns capable of piercing, but not killing a cat… and thought asking here would be the best thing until we can get one of the bullets removed. Thankyou for your time.

Thankyou for all the suggestions! I understand some of you believe I should not have notified the police and some do. I’m not going to call out a witch-hunt on anyone, and I am still open to it being an accident. But due to the fact the vets suggest she was shot at least twice, and was not ‘finished off’ although the shooter quite probably could, it feels like an act of cruelty causing Shadow pain that was not necessary.
