    Hi all,

I’m looking to buy my fist AR chambered in 5.56. My only requirements are that the gun is optic ready without the traditional front sight (pretty sure normally this means a free float handguard) and that the price be under $1,000 after the gun and sights (if not included) are purchased.

I’ve currently narrowed it down to the Ruger MPR, Sig Sauer m400, and Springfield Saint Victor. I had my heart set on the Springfield Saint Free Float but it’s been out of stock everywhere I’ve checked for months..

I was wondering if I could get some recommendations on other guns and/or opinions on the guns I’ve narrowed the search down to. This will be my first AR so I can’t get a full feel for what the gun will be like just based off of website’s item pages.

    Thanks!

MPR, other than the floating rail, the 2 stage trigger and compensator set it apart from the rest…but mainly the trigger.

Palmetto state upper and lower or rifle. Cheap and it works. Won’t be the best but it’s your first so no need to go balls deep yet

I have the M400 Tread. No complaints really. Worked great out of the box. My first AR as well.

TBH I think the M400 tread is one of the best turn key offerings in that mid range price bracket. Great barrel, great controls/lower, no bullshit.
