My reloading manuals have bold text for the formula/powder they believe to be the best suited for the round. Unfortunately I don’t have my books with me or I would tell you what they’re recommending.

Varget will work for 30-06 but not the best. IMR4895 has been the most accurate for me in my garand

If you used heavier bullets in the 30-06 you could use RL22 for both.

Had great luck with the Barnes ttsx in 180 sitting on 67 grains of imr4350. Wlrm primer. I load to 3.340 because of mag constraints. This means one of the grooves for the ttsx is above the case neck but boy oh boy can these group. 0.65 inch group at 100. Soft shooting for a 300 win.

Of course work up your own.

Over on Longrangehunting.com there’s a few guys that are running IMR 7797 in the 300wm. It’s supposedly quite similar to H1000 but not a direct replacement. I’ve had decent results with RL22 but H1000 is pretty much my go to powder for 180-220gr projectiles. RL 23 is allegedly the temp stable version of RL22 though I’ve never tested it.

My 30-06 is currently running a 165gr Speer BTSP. 51.0 grains of H4350.
