New Zealand has very few firearm-related homicides to begin with, an average of about 8 per year usually every year handguns are the culprit. When somebody uses an assault weapon in New Zealand to kill over 50 people then naturally assault weapons that year account for 90% of all firearm-related homicides in New Zealand and banning assault weapons then makes sense. That's not the case in America, in America assault weapons account for less than 1% of all firearm related homicides.

A person can purchase materials from Home Depot and create a bomb to kill several people at once. A lunatic can rent a car and mow down several people in a crowd. A deranged individual can stab several people with an ice pick in a mall before the masses realize what’s going on. Out of the gun statistics, how many deaths are from justified cop shootings? How many are from gang on gang violence? How many are from law abiding citizens defending their life against a murder, rapist, etc? If a person wants to commit suicide, they will do it by any means necessary. In prison, they tie a sheet around the bars, kneel, then lean forward to hang themselves!! How is London doing with their gun ban? Their annual murders increased with no guns! Now they want to ban knives. We do not have a gun problem. We have a mental illness problem. Wake up!!
