Earlier today I picked up a Flat Black P10C with a threaded barrel and have found the magazine release and slide release to be damn near impossible to depress normally and the slide lock is incredibly stiff. So stiff in fact it’s quite painful to use regardless of the magazine being in the gun. I have done about an hour straight of dry fire drills and everything I can but before I waste ammo on it I would like to know if this is an issue that is solved with shooting the piss out of it (in which case I am going to buy a mix cheap, crappy ammo and +P ammo and shoot the hell out of it because of how terrible it currently is) or if the only fix is what shows on the forums, which requires cutting off part of the magazine catch.
Regardless I find myself being an idiot for not doing research beforehand on a firearm (and double checking at purchase since I assumed one P10C would be the same as another) and am hoping this is simply a break in issue and not a lack of quality control (because that means I now have a very expensive paperweight).
And to answer ahead of time I have zero intention of attempting to cut off part of the magazine and slide catch, as this isn’t a race gun nor is it sold or advertised as being used in the highest levels of competition; as I like to believe that a weapon produced should function unless it is a weapon meant to be tuned such as a “race gun”. Which the P10C is very far from that.
