So my wife bought me Faxon slide for my G19 Gen 5. I noticed that the hole for the guide rod was smaller. Being my second Glock to own, I’m not familiar with the older generations. Is the guide rod smaller on the Gen 3 than the Gen 5? If so, could I fix this by buying a gen 3 guide rod?

Now just gotta buy a poly80. Adapters are cool an all, but two guns are cooler.

Gen 1-3 have smaller guide rods. In my opinion they’re better than the newer generations of Glocks.

Slides aren’t cross platform between generations readily without using adaptors or modifying frames etc..
That being said, you can use gen 4 slides on gen 5 frames but you need to use a gen 4 safety plunger.

You can run a Gen 3 slide on a Gen 5 frame. Be sure to use a Gen 5 back plate, Gen 3 slide release, and 3-4 guide rod adapter.
