Picking up my first ever kayak tomorrow! I’ve ordered one of those cheap 9′ HDPE kayaks (didn’t want to fork out in case kayaking wasn’t for me).
I’ve done my research already and it seems to be fairly important to store your kayak correctly – suspended, out of sunlight, etc.
Due to space constraints though the only place I can store it is in the backyard, with a cover on it. Would it be better if I stored it deck side up with the hull resting on 2 small directors stools (so it’s resting on fabric), or upside down?
I figure if I don’t have a rack for it the next best thing is to keep it off the ground, but I was worried about deforming the hull especially with the Australian summer heat outdoors.
Or does it not matter that much at all for a kayak this size?
