I have a cheaper, what seems to be clunkier tree stand, so the past few times I’ve gone out I put it up the evening before, then in the morning it’s easy for me to sneak in and climb up real quick.

Does anyone else do this? or am I just disturbing the area and putting my scent out there. I don’t wanna push any good activity away from the next morning!

Unless you can set up your tree stand quickly and easily, and do it in the dark, you’re better off setting up ahead of time in my opinion. Better to risk a small chance at lingering scent than to be stuck fighting with your stand in the dark the morning of.

If you know for sure that you’re gonna hunt one area specifically, you could even set up a couple weeks early so that it just becomes “part of the scenery” for the deer.

I’ve done this this year and got a buck. I think as long as you keep wind in favor you shouldn’t have a problem. Just my opinion

Get yourself a summit climber and set it up the morning of each time you go out… everywhere… anywhere. 10/10 best way to hunt anything. I climbed up a tree and 5 minutes later i missed a world record buck. Leaving your scent there all night long is not ideal. Better off setting it up the morning of.
