What are your favorite simple foods to carry?

I back pack to fishing spots often and one of the simple things I carry is a can of cold ravioli or chips. What things do you guys like to carry?

I ice fish a lot and one of my favorite things is a hot thermos full of soup!

Cliff bar and an apple.

Jerky, beanie weanies, sardines, crackers and the old faithful sandwich.

Thermos of coffee, jerky, trail mix, and a granola bar.

A thin tin skillet and some cotton balls soaked in paraffin (fire starters), day old cornbread/biscuits and some home canned salsa verde. I’ll catch a fish (or check crawfish traps) and fry it whole Mexican style for lunch (for crawfish I boil them and then simmer the tail meat in the salsa). In the summer I might also pack some fresh cucumbers or okra from the garden, or make a tomato sandwich. If it’s colder out, I sometimes pack a thermos full of soup beans or whatever soup I’m eating on that week.
It’s more work but I really like cooking creekside. Last summer I brought okra, tomatoes, and herbs from the garden, some rice noodles, a small container of spices and vinegar, and caught a catfish to make Canh Chua Ca (viet catfish soup) right there on the bank. I probably carry more cooking stuff than tackle—I usually stick to no more than 3 lures per outing.

Crackers and cheese is my go to.

I can my own YFT and take that. I also mix it with some pickles and mayo and vacuum seal it.

Costco trail mix, jerky, boiled eggs, kind bar, chips.

Pack of peanutbutter crackers and if I’m going to be out a really long time a sandwich with some chips.
