The walmart I work at has the tristar viper max for $497 and I have a 10 percent discount on just about anything in the store which does work on guns and ammo btw. So should I buy it for less than 500 dollars out the door or save up for something a little nicer like a beretta a300 or franchi? Also if you have shotgun recommendations under a thousand bucks I’d appreciate it.

Also does anyone know If the cz 1012 is worth looking at for around 600 bucks?

Get something nicer like the A300. You’ll regret getting something cheap sooner rather than later.

Mossberg 500. It may not be as fast or fancy as the other guns, but it will be cheaper, tougher, and more adaptable with the huge array of different barrels and accessories available. For the price of a mossberg 4-500$, you will have one of the best pump guns money can buy, and plenty of money left over for ammo, different barrels, or upgrades.

I had one myself but sold it because no.1 it couldn’t cycle target loads. Also I bought a Winchester sx4 and liked it better, only downside is the sx4 I got was only a 3” chamber. Also forgot to mention the one I bought from Walmart only came with a waterfowl choke. The SX4 came with a set of chokes for it

It’s not the gun but the shooter that kills the waterfowl.

The Beretta will last a lifetime if you take care of it and change the springs when they are worn. I don’t know if that’s true about the Tristar.

I have Mossberg 500, Remington 870, and gas operated shotguns. You will appreciate the gas system when shooting a lot of rounds.

Get something you can beat the crap out of and won’t care. Consider a benelli nova.
