I wouldn’t. Limited aftermarket support for the rifle, factory scope is cheap, barrel profile is on the thinner side. I’d say save up a little more for a better rifle and a decent optic, and you’ll be much happier and have a better learning experience.

Save some more. That rifle is lacking in so many ways. That barrel profile is comically thin .

From what I hear, for budget rifles, look into the Thomson Center Compass or Ruger American. Then just stick on the best scope you can afford.

you might look at the savage 11xp if you want a sorta decent scope with a good rifle platform combo
