So the WaEx is also ok with using the national guard for immigration enforcement in sancuary cities, and abortion law enforcement in pro-choice cities?

This is going to be fun, for very dystopian definitions of fun. May the odds always be in your favor!

Isn’t there some specific legal provision somewhere which says that the military cannot be used as civilian law enforcement? They are used to maintain order in the event of some local emergency, but the NG are not LEOs and I think they cannot be used for that purpose.

Also, the NG is made up of local volunteers. I do wonder how many of them would actually go along with Party Secretary Northam’s edict…

I wonder if they anti gun control crowd know anything of the gun advocates because they are literally walking right into the same issues that people have always complained about they argued would never happen.

This would be such a horrible move for the governor. He’d literally kick off a war if he did this. And I still believe that the amount of defectors in the military would be staggeringly high.

They would go into meltdown if some governor threatened to use the national guard to enforce immigration law in sanctuary cities (rightly so), but clap like seals at soldiers going door to door against their own countrymen. Fuck off you fucking jackboots.

The Texas Border was a SAD mission when I was on it because Obama denied Title 32 or Title 10. We were paid the same regardless of rank. The Money came from the Texas Slush fund. I was saying that soldiers cannot be activated on Title 32 or Title 10 without Fed approval. SAD is a completely different animal as you can be fired or layer off and the time on it doesn’t count towards anything and Soldiers on it have zero protections like they do on Title 10.

This is one of the few things I agree with Trump on. The Washington Post is an elitist news organization with a billionaire controlling the strings. The billionaire (and future trillionaire) class need government to enforce gun laws to keep them safe.

    No, he can’t.
He can really only deploy the National Guard like that in a state of emergency.

75 out of 95 counties declare their extreme disagreement with a state government’s decision, the state government starts talking about National Guard.

Sounds like people without proper representation being threatened with authoritarian violence because they wish to protect their individual rights. I don’t know how any self-respecting person could agree with Virginian lawmakers here. Fucking despicable.

Wonder if they have stopped to consider how many members of the national guard are also the gun toting “rebels” they intend to disarm?

Once the US government uses the military (even the national guard) on its citizens, American will have fallen.
    It will unravel.

I find it ironic that people, who largely have never taken an oath to the constitution will be fighting and killing those who have, in attempt to preserve the constitution.

Has anyone started the legal process to get this law declared unconstitutional? I would greatly prefer reading about boring legal briefs than people getting injured or killed over something that can be solved without violence.

It’s funny because the national guard won’t enforce unconstitutional laws. “I will support and defend the constitution of the United States of America against enemies both foreign and domestic.” Tyrants are domestic enemies…

Virginia national guard is 7500 soldiers. I wonder how many gun owners are willing to stand up to those 7500
